Hiatus

January sky

We have a winter storm bearing down on us, with heavy snow slated to be dropped on us starting late tonight, and the attendant temperatures getting down into the single digits — some days the highs are forecast to be in the single digits. I think most of the rest of the country is staring into the same abyss, and I hope all of you stay warm and sequestered with those you love.

Dear readers, my wife and I are facing a couple of major life challenges that sailed into our formerly calm harbor a few days ago. These things are going to occupy most of my time and emotional energies for some time to come, so I will not be posting for a while. As always, I appreciate y’all for stopping by and commenting and providing me with encouragement, smiles, and meditation fodder. I’ll see you when/if I’m able to return.

Thank you, James….more than I can adequately express, thank you. Tomorrow will be a tense day because we’re waiting to hear some news. By Tuesday evening, we may know something definite, at which time I will post an update here. Thank you again for your prayers and your faithful friendship. I take neither for granted and I hope all is well with you and your beloved.

I’m in the process of moving to my beloved North Woods, and therefore not paying much attention to the internet, but I want you and Mrs. Orr to know that I’m praying for you. I do hope that you’ll return to blogging someday, but if you don’t, I am glad our paths crossed for a while.

Heather, that is so very kind of you, and Mrs. Orr and I appreciate your words dearly. I hope the move goes smoothly and that y’all get settled in with no difficulties. Thank you again, daughter, for your encouragement and kindness. Blessings to you and your beautiful family.

Far enough down the trail to check in and wish your family well S.K.
Hopefully things are improving for you and yours brother.

      Stay warm and dry brother.

We have been pounded several times in the last few weeks here in Central Oregon. Temps in the minus digits, snow and freezing rain.
No complaints as the larder is well stocked and the stove is doing a good job.

      Be safe my friend.

Thank you, James, and good to hear from you, brother. We’re finally starting to thaw out, but with the volume of snow still on the ground AND the big rains starting tonight, flooding is the next thing around the bend. Hope y’all are doing well and enjoying peace in your days.

Dear Mr Orr, I pray that calm waters will return to your harbor soon and that the tempests will cease. May the good Lord keep both of you and your families under His Divine Protection. Your writing has blessed me richly as almost every post paints a tapestry of calmness in my mind whenever I read.

Tony, I am so grateful for your prayers and your kindness and your blessings. I hope that someday you will be blessed and encouraged by someone to the degree that you have blessed and encouraged me. Thank you for all of it, brother.

    Dear SK,
Oh dear. Can feel your pain. Well, blast and damn. While standing, facing life, it sure can out of nowhere swing around and bite one in the rump. You will be missed. Thoughts and prayers for you and your wife and the doggies to weather the storm. May it not suck the air out of the room for too long. Without your writings, your moving on will leave a wee hole in my day. You dear soul. Your view into your world will be missed. And your goodness. Very best wishes to you, may you negotiate the rapids and when renewed, maybe return to writing for us to enjoy. Thank you very much!! Armor up and God speed, hon.

    SK,
I am very troubled by your post and will pray that everything goes well and returns to normal in your life very quickly. You are a brave, intelligent, and compassionate person. A good man in all respects.

Please don’t stay away too long. I will miss your posts.
