Out With The Old, China Excavations, & In With The New
The HVAC team told me they would be here at 0900 this morning. At precisely 0855, they were rolling up to the house.
They unloaded the new units, indoor and outdoor, and set to work. Several complications ensured, with trips back to the shop to fabricate a metal box to facilitate easier joining to the ductwork, and quite a bit of excavation in order to securely set in the new indoor unit. They’re digging as I type this, in fact. I’ve already claimed dibs on any arrowheads, musket balls, or casks of Amontillado they might uncover.
I feel awash in technology today. Here I am, tapping on a device that allows me to share my profound wisdom, fashion advice, and haggis recipes with all five of my readers. Not a high number of readers to be sure, but y’all probably live all over the place, so it’s impressive (and gratifying) to me, anyway. And I’m writing on this thing while three men are beneath these oak boards, installing an apparatus that will allow us to live in a comfortable inside climate that any king or tsar would have envied just a century ago. At the same time, I have another device at my elbow which allows my wife, who is at the grocery store and has an identical device, to send me photos and the question, “Is this the right brand of paint?”
The fellows are racing the sun now. Will they finish by dark? Will they be forced to return tomorrow? Will Kamala finally unleash her MyPillow on Joe? Stay tuned…

Bookslinger, the crew worked until past dark and got everything installed. By the time they cleaned up and left, the new unit was purring away, and our house was warm, and we were relieved and tired. The stress of things is exhausting for us. A week before Thanksgiving and we are very thankful.

Anxiously awaiting the end of the story.

Carol, my readers are most CERTAINTLY very high quality. You are, of course, numbered among that august group.
I told Jinx what you said about him and his sweater. He sighed.
Wardrobe and dignity. They are cemented together like ham & eggs.

As the wise know – quality beats quantity with most things in life…
…so though your readers may be few, the high value we all place on your writings must surely speak to our quality as discerning consumers of blog materials ;^)
p.s. That photo of Jinx in his sweater is worth thrice the price of admission! Lol
