To An Emaciated Squirrel

To An Emaciated Squirrel

I’ve never seen a skinny squirrel before

But I can count your picket fence of ribs

And pray that you find nourishment before

Your young ones suffer in their leaf-lined cribs.

I’ve been well. Wife and kids are doing great. Work is good. Jiu Jitsu twice a week, lifting thrice a week, and I’m getting back to blogging again.

    How’s the family?

Glad to hear it…sounds like you’re staying healthy and busy. We’re all doing fine, and thank you for asking. Grandkids growing up too fast, me getting more geezerly day by day. Good times. So glad you’re getting back into the blogging swing.

I love it. First quatrain of a sonnet, if you keep going. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut— I hope he finds a few more. And I hope you are well my friend.
