Yes, he was phenomenally talented, Sean. Talkin’ Karate Blues was as witty, hilarious, and understated as they come.

I’m continually irritated at all the younger cats who want to be songwriters who are pale imitations of Townes. A bottle of whiskey and a smartass personality do NOT equal the kind of white-phosphorus talent Van Zandt possessed.

I don’t find your musical tastes “annoying”! It’s nice to be introduced to ‘new kinds’ of music –
    – I particularly enjoyed this song, as it has a sort of old west/cowboy feel…

I’ll be praying for you – I know what it’s like to have to ‘process’ through the realization that long held dreams are not ‘in the cards’…

Be kind to yourself, S.K. – the death of a dream is no easy loss to mourn.

Thank you, Carol, as always. For the record, though, my “sorting things out” remark had nothing to do with the death of any of my dreams. I can understand why you made the connection, but the two recent posts were about two very separate situations. I deeply appreciate your prayers….I always need them. Again, thank you, my sister.
